Empowering Youth Through Collaboration
Out with the New, In with the Old
Erasmus+ Youth Exchange
Discover the Erasmus+ Youth Exchange Project
Out with the New, In with the Old was a youth exchange project that tackles the environmental and social issues caused by the fast fashion industry. Over 10 days, participants will reflected on their consumption habits, explored sustainable alternatives, and developed solutions aligned with the European Green Deal. Through workshops, discussions, and hands-on activities, we will promote a circular economy and conscious fashion choices.
Project Objectives
Raise Awareness
Participants learned about fast fashion’s environmental and social impact.
Promote Sustainability
We explored ways to reuse, recycle, and extend clothing lifespan.
Encourage Responsible Consumption
Discussions focused on ethical shopping habits and reducing waste.
Activities Overview
Upcycling Workshop
Participants brought old clothes and learned creative ways to repurpose them into stylish, reusable items. Using sewing techniques, fabric painting, and DIY methods, they gave a second life to garments that would have otherwise been discarded.
Sustainable Fashion Visit
We visited a local sustainable clothing brand to understand eco-friendly production processes. Participants engaged in discussions with brand representatives about ethical materials, fair wages, and how sustainable businesses can challenge the fast fashion industry.
Clothing Swap Event
Everyone brought clothes they no longer used and exchanged them with others. This promoted the idea of reusing rather than discarding clothing, reducing waste while also refreshing wardrobes in a fun and interactive way.
